When someone asks you what evaluation is for you, the first thing that appears to your head is FEAR and PRESSION.
Mostly all students think that the evaluation is just passing an exam, so what happens with that thought? If you have that thought you are not going to study to learn, you are going to study to pass an exam, and that's a wrong conception we have!
It is important to know that evaluation is not only the exams you take, evaluation is also your behaviour in class, your participation and your daily activities, projects and exhibitions.
Today I have learnt that we have to see evaluation as part of our teaching learning process, as a 'test' we have to do to check how our knowledges are. If sometimes you fail, nothing is going to happen, it means that you have to improve and you need to study a bit more to achieve the course's aims.
We as a teacher should promote this concept of evaluation, where students are motivated and don't only focus in the final exam. Evaluation is more than the final exam.
We haven't finished the unit yet so... next day I'll continue talking about it!
