The course is finishing... today we started the last unit, that it is about ICT.
Although I know that we live in an era where social media is around us, we know a small part of it. There are many aspects, applications and information that only profesional and qualified people known.
During this unit, our teacher wants to show and to teach us the important aspects and applications of the ICT needed in our classes as future teachers.
Our student have to learn THROUGH, WITH and ABOUT ICT.
Today I have learn things like stop-motion video that develops teamwork and communicative skill, or bookmarking. But in today's Class Diary, I want to talk about the online classes the teachers had to give while the lockdown because of COVID-19.
- Did the teachers have the knowledge to give online classes? And the students, did they have the knowledge and the materials to have online classes?
- Did they know about google resources? Or, did they discover them because of the situation?
At first, teachers had many problems because here in Spain they are not used to use the ICT for online classes. It was difficult but at the end mostly all the teachers learnt how to do it!
In my opinion, Spanish government should think about implementing the ICT knowledge either for students and teachers. There are some countries like Korea, where students have ICT classes since they are in Primary Education, and also where the teachers are qualified because their government promotes it. My question is, why doesn't our government promote the well-being of teachers and students with more facilities and aids?
The teachers are the ones that prepare the students for that future, and the students are the future.
