SPEAKING MORE FREELY

As last week, we continued with the presentations. Today's ones were about:
  • Speaking more freely
  • Reading and telling stories
  • Story activities
And tomorrow we are going to be presented the last one, that it is "Teaching young learners"

Although today's three presentations were really interesting, I'm going to write about the first one, because I loved the first activity they did to us!!!

First of all we need to know that if students are more freely when speaking, they are going to be more encourage to use different expressions, they are going to be able to talk about familiar topics, to know how to answer properly, to understand what their classmates say and they will also create a positive environment while learning.
It is also important for us as future teachers to use pictures and gestures when introducing new contents in order to make the students easy to learn them.

This group proposed two activities, but the one I liked the most was titled "PASS THE BALL". It was a really enjoyable activity that if we use it in our future classes our students will have an active learning.
For this activity the students have to be stand up and they will have to pass each other a ball while a song is playing by the teacher. Then, at some point of the activity, the teacher will stop the song and the one that has the ball will have to answer a question in relation to the content they are studying in that moment.

What I have described above is essential to take into account in our future classes if we want our students to acquire a good level of English and also if we want them to be active when learning English. It is also important to be creative when presenting the different contents and activities in order to have the students full attention.
